Ile aux Cerfs is the picture-perfect spot, with its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

Nestled on the east coast, in the largest lagoon of Mauritius, the island has 3 restaurants offering different style of cuisines and bars with a large selection of drinks, water sports activities including parasailing bookable with the operators on the island, an 18 hole golf course and a golf club and filaos trees offering lots of shade to have a relaxing day.

Ile aux Cerfs can be visited by ferry boat, by cruise, speedboat or pirates boat. The island can be very crowded during the holidays and on weekends, however one must know that Ile aux Cerfs has over 4 km of sandy beaches, and it takes a short walk away from the crowd to find your own private beach.

What is the best way to visit the island?

There are several options available to discover the island.

  • Cruise to the island & after lunch, spend the afternoon on the beach of the island.
  • Speedboat trip to the island with BBQ lunch on the island.
  • Full day on the island, enjoy the several activities available.

There are ferry boat transfers from Pointe Maurice jetty to the island, which leaves normally every 30 minutes.

When is the best time to go to Ile aux Cerfs?

Ile aux Cerfs is often criticised for being too crowded. However, it must be said that the island is very busy during the weekend, school holidays and weekends. During week days, it is much more pleasant. Moreover, Ile Aux Cerfs is surrounded by beautiful beaches, and it takes a short walk away from the crowd to find your own peaceful piece of beach.

Can I go to Ile aux Cerfs by myself without an operator?

Yes. You can take the ferry boat from Pointe Maurice jetty in Trou d’Eau Douce. You can buy your boat transfer ticket at the jetty’s counter.

Transfer is done in 18 seater boat in total safety.

What is the best way to get there?

Either self drive or joining a tour. Taking public transport is possible, but complicated and time consuming, so we would not advise this option.

Should we book our trip to Ile aux Cerfs in advance?

It depends. If you want to simply spend the full day on the island, there is no need to book in advance. If you would like to take a boat trip to the island, then it is recommended to book at least 24 hours prior to the day.
